Project Details
Horizons Phase 1 is a 105 Acre site with 200 homesites, Amenity Center & a SCDOT Turn Lane. J.H. Hiers responsibilities include mass grading, sanitary lift station, sanitary sewer, force main, waterline, storm drain, curb and gutter, and asphalt paving.
Challenges and Unique Details
This project is unique in that it had veins of roadway sand in some of the ponds that we were able to mine for use within the roadways eliminating the need for offsite borrow. We worked closely with the geotech and owner to quantify and provide the means and methods to capture as much of this sand as possible for use in the roads. The utilities on this project are also challenging with deep sewer and over a mile of offsite force main.
Project Results
As of early 2022, this project is ongoing, and J.H. Hiers has been able to facilitate multiple crews working on this site to ensure we can provide the earliest completion date possible.
